Car Burglaries Investigation

Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider announces the arrest of three (3) juveniles in connection with the recent burglary’s of over 80 vehicles in the past month. These vehicles were broken into in the northern area of Loudon County including several in the city limits of Lenoir City. Items taken were electronics, cash, purses, cell phones and tasers.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of Investigator Jonathan Sartin of the Lenoir City Police Department worked many hours in developing the names of the suspects involved. A suspect vehicle was also identified after a failed attempt to break into a vehicle in Lenoir City.

In the early morning hours of 4/4/09 Loudon County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Watkins pulled over a vehicle at the Misty Ridge subdivision after a vehicle was spotted

suddenly turning on headlights and avoiding the officer. One of the juveniles suspected in the thefts was inside the car. It was later determined the other subjects in the vehicle were not involved. Loudon County Sheriff’s Officers and police officers from Lenoir City Police Department worked throughout the morning hours culminating in the arrests of three (3) juveniles who we believe are responsible for this crime spree. All three admitted to the crimes and several stolen items were recovered.

The investigation is still on going at this time and more subjects may be charged.

Released: Monday - April 06, 2009
