Theft recovery of $13,000 and arrests

Sheriff Tim Guider of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of two subjects who were involved in the recent theft of over $13,000.00. On 04/29/2009 a Mrs. Virginia Zaborski of Knoxville reported a theft of $13,600.00 in cash. Mrs. Zaborski gave the cash to a friend by the name of Erika Bryan. She was to put the money in the bank for Mrs. Zaborski because she had to leave on an emergency and could not deposit it herself. It was then learned that Erika Bryan was living at Daleyohski Lane in Loudon. Mrs. Bryan is an adult but was living in a foster home. Mrs. Bryan then left with the cash and also took a 14 year old juvenile with her. Upon further investigation, Corporal Pete McGinley and Deputy Michael Watkins were able to determine that the subjects had taken a cab to Knoxville to get on the bus at Grey Hound Bus Station to travel to Memphis. Corporal McGinley and Deputy Watkins immediately notified the Memphis Police. Due to the quick response and follow up by the deputies, both subjects were apprehended by Memphis Police. Also, the $13,000.00 in cash was recovered. Mrs. Bryan was charged with theft over $10,000.00. The Juvenile was placed in custody. Lt. Teresa Smith and Corrections Officer McKenzie Williams traveled to Memphis on April 30th and brought the two subjects back along with the victim’s money.
