Burglary Old Stage Road - Arrests Made

Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider announces the arrests of Jefferson Wesley Grady and Kipling Deshawn Colbert both of Knoxville in the case of a home invasion type burglary of a home on Old Stage Road in Loudon County on 9/14/09. Sheriff Guider advised that at approximately 9:37am, a resident on Old Stage Road called and advised that an unknown black male had broken her door down and had confronted her inside the residence but then fled in a champaign colored Kia with a tire on the back door with the cover missing. Sheriff Guider advised that several units proceeded to the area to try to find the suspect vehicle. Soon thereafter, Knox County had a similar burglary where the suspects met the same description as those in the Loudon County incident. Sheriff Guider stated that his investigators worked with Knox County Investigators who gave the names of the suspects. Both suspects were taken into custody in Knoxville and the victims from both Knox County and Loudon County picked the suspects out of a line up.

Loudon County investigators traveled to Knoxville and took statements from both suspects who admitted to the burglary on Old Stage Road. The fast work and the information sharing between the Knox County and Loudon County Investigators played a key role in the quick apprehension of these two individuals stated Sheriff Guider. Both suspects are being held in the Knox County Detention Facility each with multiple charges, added the Sheriff.

Released: Friday - September 18, 2009
