Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider today announced the arrest on an indictment of Donald Hornby, age 53, of 12548 Unitia Road in Lenoir City. On April 26th, 2011, the Loudon County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Department of Children’s Services (DCS) began an investigation of Hornby involving the rape of a child under twelve years of age. Upon further investigation, the child was interviewed and it was learned that the subject did penetrate the victim. The CID unit also conducted a search of Hornby’s residence on April 26th. Evidence was taken from the resident and Hornby was interviewed. Sheriff Guider advised that the case was presented for indictment and the Grand Jury, when the met on August 8th, did indict Hornby on one count of Rape of a Child, based on the Investigator’s evidence, including the interview of the suspect.

Hornby was arrested August 15th by the Loudon CID unit in Knoxville without incident, and was brought to the Loudon County Jail. He remains in custody at this time under a $25,000 bond. If convicted, Hornby would face mandatory prison time.
